Labeling enabled with the mapviewer is currenlty not supported in Dashboard.

An update
The September update to ArcGIS online should enable label support for Operations Views opened in the web browser.
At the time of this writing there is no definitive timeline for when map viewer map labeling will be supported in the Windows Dashboard Application.

Still seems to not be working? I know labels are not supported in collector but from this post I am confused if I should see them in dashboard? I have a feature service setup in arcmap to display labels and published. I then enabled them in AGOL and they show fine on my webmap but using that webmap does not show the labels in dashboard.
Is there a timeline yet for feature service label support is the desktop version of the operations dashboard?

if you could enable <label features> from ArcMap before Publishing service, you'll get this view at Ops Dashboard Desktop edition
Labeling is not possible due to limitations in the WPF architecture. We are working on a new version of Operations Dashboard that is based on JavaScript and will support labels (and many other things not previously supported).
Any timeframe?

The labels will not work in the desktop version because of the known limitation of it's framework. We encourage users who want to show labels to build their dashboards with the browser version in mind, or to switch to using our new Operations Dashboard, in which you can author in the browser. Thank you for the video, that certainly helps with troubleshooting the issue! What you are seeing here, again, it's a limitation of the WPF platform. It has no understanding of the javascript symbols or expression, so it uses default symbology on the map. Also, the legend works, only because it's fetching the image from your webmap. As you also saw, there was no problem in the browser version, because it's using the same javascript library as the webmap.
All of these 'platform' limitations have been addressed in our new beta app. If you haven't already, I would encourage you to join the beta and start building your own dashboards in the browser. We have seen tremendous feedback on it and look forward to the future of the product. Thanks!
Labels in Dashboard. My workaround in the new online Dashboard was to add my map with labels as Embedded Content URL instead of adding as a Map. I don't know if Embedded Content has always been in the dropdown with graph, pie chart, map, serial chart, indicator, but it works. I can't tell the difference between adding as a Map vs adding as Embedded Content. I can also use the Batch Editing widget in the map within Dashboard.
