Navigation Toolbar ZoomIn/ZoomOut not working on mobile devices

The ZoomIn/ZoomOut buttons from Navigation Toolbar samples are not working on mobile devices browsers. The behaviour  was noticed on iPad, Galaxy (Android) tablets.
Is the functionality not supported for mobile devices?

In mobile devices you don't need ZoomIn/ZoomOut buttons because you can pinch to zoom instead of drawing the extent rectangle like in desktop applications.
