Boxy and rough looking contours

I generated 5 ft contours from a DEM using spatial analyst. Some came out looking fine, but some came out looking square, boxy, and rough looking. Has anyone had this problem before? I have attached an examle for review.

You may be seeing this because of a digitizing technique that results in something called Manual Profiling. There is also a suggestion to adjust some of the parameters, specifically the offset, when generating your contours.
