When one of the layers is loaded in the UI, random point graphics are missing from the layer. However, the data for the missing points is still accessible in the UI.
What is in the table of contents of the map?
Are there are group layers?
In any event, drag the points layer so that it is at the top of the table of contents, and check how your table of contents is being organized/sorted with the icons at its top
