Share a Web App in ArcGIS online with out exposing the underlying web map

Question

Is there a work around to limit member access to only web apps in ArcGIS online?

I understand that the web maps need to be shared in order to use a web app but is there any way to get around this?

i want members of my organization to be able to access the web apps but not the maps. i feel that if they see a web map and a web app they will get confused between the two.

Randall,

Share the web app with a group and direct your members to that location...they would still be able to search for and find the underlying web map but may not need to if they have a direct access point via the group?
