i want to give my visitors the ability to turn layers on and off.

how can i display the layer checkboxes in the embed provided by the online map maker?

No the embed capability is not built into the API...

You can't. That ability is not available in the embedded map. You could write your own page using the ArcGIS JavaScript API...

hm, is the embed accessible through the API? Can i combine them?
