ArcMap Performance and Address Points in the LGIM

I'm interested in finding out what the performance is like for those users of the Address Management template that have a large number of features in the site address points feature class. We have created centroids for parcel features within our jurisdiction (up to 660K). I find that ArcMap slows down considerably when this layer is visible in the Address Management template. We are editing in a versioned environment. I know there are options such as building a feature cache and indexes on attributes used in labeling. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this or if I need to make some adjustments?
