How do I download a map from ArcGIS online to use offline as an image?

I have a couple of basemaps on ArcGIS online that I've made adjustments to and would like to be able to download them as images for research purposes. How am I able to obtain copies of them that I can use as images and keep the originals online for future reference and more editing if I need to?
