I am building a series of Desktop Apps thru Experience Builder and one thing I cannot figure out. Under the create/select widget, when a user selects a feature, the display shows the ObjectID. How can I change that so it displays a particular field?
Hi @ModernElectric, if you enable batch editing in the Edit widget, then the titles of the selected features will respect the pop-up title configurations from Map Viewer (so it could be changed to display another field, for example). I am not sure if there is a way to currently do this with batch editing disabled.
Hi @ModernElectric ! For the Electric Dept Projects layer that is shown in the screenshot, which field would you like to be displayed instead of the ObjectID field? Additionally, is this the only feature layer that shows the ObjectID field when editing? I did some quick testing on my end and found that when ObjectID is the only field in the feature layer, it will display the same way. Once I added a new field, my selections only show the new field. With only the ObjectID Field configured:
I then added a string field called Name:
I have the Edit Widget (create/select features) configured to Interact with a Map Widget. I did not make any other changes to the feature layer for labeling or display properties.
@DominicF
I had a follow-up question since it appears you are knowledgeable with Experience Builder. I have multiple Hosted Feature Layers in the map that are set to non-editable. However, when a user selects the editable feature (Elec Dept Tasks), it also selects all of the features. What do I need to configure for the selection to only select/grab the editable layers?
Thank You
@ModernElectric could you provide a screenshot so I make sure I'm understanding the behavior correctly? Or is there a sample public app that you have?
The red (arrow and circle) is the Field Maps with Tasks Hosted Feature Layer that we want as the only layer visible when the user selects it. The blue circle is a "supporting" separate hosted feature layer that has the edit capabilities disabled.
@ModernElectric yes, we can specify the layers we want visible in the Edit widget.
Edit widget > click on the Map that is connected > enable 'Customize layers' setting > uncheck the layers we do not want visible in the widget.
@DominicF Thank you - Exactly what my Operation Users wanted to see. Appreciate it
