We have 4 Getac UX10 touch screen Windows 11 tablet computers running ArcGIS Pro that we intend to use to perform field mapping. We have performed this work in years past using Panasonic Toughbooks and ArcMap 10.x
Users are presented with polygons that they then reshape, usually by splitting and merging. When splitting, mappers would like to be able to create vertices using the Streaming option. In this way they're able to capture the natural boundaries of plant communities.
The problem we are encountering is that when using the stylus (or finger tips) on touch enabled devices, ArcGIS Pro registers any touch as if the explore tool is enabled in addition to whatever tool has the user chose. This is true for the Streaming tool as well as more basic tools such as the Select by rectangle tool. When one tries to stream the line to split a polygon, the map starts panning and one cannot draw the line. Similarly, if one is trying to draw a line that describes a selection rectangle, the map starts panning, preventing one from completing the rectangle.
ArcGIS Pro is installed at version 3.5.2
I've tried various settings within ArcGIS Pro and Windows 11 to no avail. Checking and Unchecking the "Touch Screen input for new features" option in the Editing Options dialog, various options under Navigation, etc. I have also tried the various options found within Windows Settings and Control Panel.
I have seen a few other posts here complaining of similar issues, but no one seems to have found a solution that would work for our situation. Is this somehow a Windows issue? I'm flummoxed and frustrated.
