I am having an issue with Field Maps integration with high-accuracy GPS units. I created my map using Field Maps Designer, and within my map are three layers: Active_Research_Points, Active_Research_Lines, Active_Research_Polygons. I enabled GPS metadata for this feature layer. The only fields that I have on my form for each layer (point/line/polygon) are the following:
We are using an Emlid receiver and Trimble Android Handheld device with the Field Maps app. The Field Maps app is on the latest version. I've verified that Field Maps is connected to my Emlid receiver. When I try to add a point to my map, I see the error "This form contains unsupported data". This error appears for all 3 layers. You can see in the screenshot above that I am not referencing any calculated layers or GPS metadata, so I do not understand why we are seeing this error. Editing is enabled for all of these fields as well. When I opened the app from my apple iPhone (using the phone's internal GPS), this error does not appear and I am able to collect data.
In a troubleshooting attempt, I tried creating a new map from just 1 layer - Active_Research_Points. In Field Maps Designer, I didn't add any fields to the form at all. When I went outside to collect data from the Trimble handheld device, I no longer saw the error, however all of the fields (including the GPS metadata fields) show up in the app for editing. I believe this happens because I didn't set any particular forms, so it defaults to showing all of the fields.
Now that I was able to get it to work in this most basic setup, I went into Field Maps Designer for that map and added one Single Line text field. When I went back outside to collect the data, I was no longer able to and received the "this Form contains unsupported data" message. I don't understand why this is occurring when I add just one field. The app only seems happy when I do not set any fields in Field Maps designer.
