Hi - it looks like ArcGIS Workflow Manager is not shown in the Products - Esri Community list. It may be found through the search bar (the theme and community exist) but the products portion of the site is missing this product.

I miss not being able to see the posts and discussions I have participated in that used to available under 'My Profile'. How do I get that functionality back?

Hi @dcoley, when you go to your profile, are you able to click on the Posts and Comments buttons beneath your avatar? They should load your history.

I was just about to respond but you beat me to it. Glad it was uncovered! Now that Products are all included on a one page list, a Control/Command + F search can make quick work for finding any of them.

Is there a way to recover our Bookmark/Following history? I had dozens of bookmarks for discussions I was interested in following and seeing the conclusion of… not all of which I commented on. Even if it was just a way to manually find them again. They are just all of a sudden all gone.

Hi, I've noticed a couple of issues with video content in our posts. In some cases, the video viewport height is rendered very small, making the content difficult to consume unless opened in full-screen mode. Additionally, video quality appears significantly lower after opening, with noticeably blurred resolution compared to the previous experience.

Is this a known issue, or are there recommended best practices for uploading and displaying video content in EC to ensure consistent viewport sizing and playback quality?

Tried 1, 2 and 3 tags haha. Saved my draft but refuses to post - AGOL ideas. My tags were selected from the drop down. When I re-write and try to post without tags I get the same error.

I'm very sorry, @mthompson_WellesleyMA. Bookmarks were one of the small number of data segments that could not be migrated to the new platform. You would need to locate and bookmark them again, though I do recognize that may not be easy to do depending on the size of the list and whether you're able to recall all of those posts.

Hi @egillen, from a known issue perspective, we do know that some posts have elements whose formatting changed due to differences between our former Community platform and the new platform that couldn't reconcile during the merge process. Have you attempted to edit and re-embed the video by chance?

@jcloutier The owner of the post has the videos so I'll ask them to try re-embed the content and see if that fixes it.

Separately, we have an extension in Autodesk Forma that contains links to our old Questions and Ideas boards. Once selected, these now return page not found.

Should there be redirects to the main Place for the links below?

Thank you. Let us know what happens with the video! Regarding those two links, I see what's happening. Most Places in Esri Community, including ArcGIS for Autodesk Forma, no longer have boards. Instead, the posts have been shifted up a level to now reside at the Place level and can be filtered. Learn more about how to do that in How to Filter Recent Posts.

When logging in with my typical Esri account it created a new user (camrex) for me automatically instead of logging in with my previous username (CameronRex1). Not sure why, I logged in with the same account. Is there any way to fix this?

you can change your username when you click on your profile.

I get "The name you entered is already in use by another member."
The other member is me, which used to be tied to the same login that the new member was tied to

I'm not receiving email notifications. I can see that boards I'm following are updating me via the Community notification bell icon, but even after going into my settings and toggling on the email option, I am not receiving them. My email address changed recently, so that might be part of it but the organization set it up so emails going to that old address should come to my new one.

In general I like the new community :) However here are a few things would like to see improved:

The Like and Upvote buttons should be much more prominent. It is so small and muted right now.

Overnight, my username was reset back to my email instead of the one I setup yesterday. Is there a way to fix this from happening again? I'm assuming it a bug - I reset my username this morning back to what I originally had.

Thanks for the feedback, @s.schuette_ct. Glad to hear that overall the new Esri Community feels good! We'll have to look into the icon sizes—I suspect that these are not something we can change out of the box, but I see your point and it's something I'll bring up in our team's feedback conversations.

I hear you on the more meaningful icons for Places/Boards, too. Icons for these are a new capability for us and something we're still working on filling in as able.

For deleting posts, this isn't something that members are able to do themselves in order to prevent the permanent loss of records. It is something that you can request via the Report option, though, and we have some instructions here: How to Remove Your Own Post.

Hi @camrex - This issue usually happens when accounts are registered under different email addresses. If it was the same email, they would have been merged post-migration. I can certainly help you fix this. I'm sending you a private message now to gather your account details!

Are MVPs able to move posts anymore? Say someone posted to Portal but meant AGOL, etc? I don't see the button right away

Hi @jlhansen and @JonM32, this has now been classified as a known issue that member's Esri Community usernames are switching to match their ArcGIS Public Account usernames when logging in. A solution is in process and we've turned off the ability for members to change their usernames while that happens. Thanks for your patience while a fix is implemented.

Icons overlap in browser windowed mode

The order of posts is strange:
When I comment under a blue highlighted message, I visually expect it to be a reply to this message or at least to appear below this message. instead a new message you enter at the end of the page appears at the beginning of the page, which is irritating.

I agree, I've had to stop and think about which posts are most recent. Could be as simple as 'this is different from what I'm used to', and I suspect it's baked in?

I feel it should work more like Reddit: The "Leave a comment" area should be directly under the initial post. It does not make sense to have to scroll to the and to post a comment only to scroll up to see the most recent comments.

Hi @lmott - yes, MVPs still have permissions to move posts. This is something we turned on yesterday so please log out and log back in to see these changes. To move a post, simply click the three ellipses from a post and select "move post".

The Mark All Read button does not appear to work.

Hi @Hornbydd - The "Mark All Read" button removes the number count from the bell icon. Your screenshot shows no number on the bell, meaning all notifications are marked as read. Please let me know if I am missing a specific detail here!

Yep you are right, I had a number (your reply to me) and it cleared it. I was expecting the Mark All Read to clear the 4 notifications from the list. I feel that is the expected behaviour. I see little value in maintaining a list of the last 4 notifications that I have reviewed.

On a completely different note I posted a few hours ago a recommendation on this thread on improving the filtering. When I pressed the post button it said it was going to appear after moderation and has so far not yet appeared, yet this post was instant and you replied swiftly. Why would the other post go to moderation and what's holding it up?

So with the new redesign of the esri communities forum I found myself exploring my own profile to see what I could do or not do. I've been a participant of the esri forum in all its forms for some time now and wanted to search back on my ideas to see if there were others voting them up. So I went to what is the obvious place to go to is my Profile icon (top right)> My Posts and it lists everything. Way too much to click through. So I found myself asking how the heck do I just list all my own ideas? Well before I went on a rampage complaining about this new look I looked under the help section and found this page that tells you how to filter. So that's a solution.

But I really think if I am only interested in my contributions it would be obvious to go to my profile > my posts and filter there, not just any old page, but under my own profile. The profile > my posts is missing the all important ability to filter your own contributions. So I would like to see that capability on that page.

Yes, there's multiple ways to locate your posts and going to the Quick Links → Recent Posts is the most effective way to filter your posts further. I'll take your feedback back to the team as a possible future enhancement.

Thanks for the feedback, @s.schuette_ct. There isn't a feed extender option in the platform but it's something we can take as a feature request for consideration.

Is it also possible to move replies? Example: a reply that was posted to the OP message using "Leave a comment" that was meant as a reply to another message?

I am also missing the overview of all my ideas in my profile.

I noticed you can no longer view member profiles without being logged in.

Community interactions should become more visible
Can we make the Kudos (now Likes) given and earned more prominent?
I mentioned before that it is currently so tiny and unassuming on ideas and posts and messages.
Also in the user profile it is so tiny, and the Reactions earned is missing.

I would also appreciate to get back the profile statistics that were only visible to the user.
Ideally we would have individual interaction dashboards.
- Likes given /earned / development over time
- Posts / Ideas created
- Reactions
- activity tracker (similar to Github Activity tracker)
- Number of Ideas posted, Statistics of the states of the ideas

That's correct that logging in is required to view member profiles in the new platform.

I also miss not being able to see how many views a post has received . . . I would use that metric to determine if I needed to bump my post myself by adding more explanation, or just if it was getting any traction……

If you go to Profile - my posts, you can see how many have viewed what you created.

@s.schuette_ct - you can find your Ideas under Quick Links → Recent Posts and filter on Ideas. There isn't a way to filter your posts on your profile.

Following up to note publicly that we have replicated the issue of email notifications for Followed Categories and Bookmarked posts not sending, and have added it to the Known Issues tracker while it's being worked on.

@s.schuette_ct I'm looping our Community Ideas Manager, @NairiSevajian, to look into this question. Please expect that she may not be able to respond until next week, but will follow up when she can.

When I click "sign in" there is no indication or choice for which esri account is being used to sign me in. If there is no account already, it will create a new forum account, still with no indication of which esri account I'm in until after the new forum account is created.

I had issues even signing into the forum with my original account as I didn't have any choice over the esri account used.

I'm also unable to find a way to delete the forum accounts that were created by accident at this point.

Hi @BlakeMorrison, the new Esri Community platform uses your email address as its unique identifier rather than your ArcGIS Public Account username (what the last platform used). You'll still use your Public Account username at log-in, but the system will read the email address associated with that account username to make a match on the Esri Community side. If it can't make a match, it concludes (in this case, incorrectly) that you're a new member and fires up the account creation process. We've seen a few examples since launch where members had an old email address in their Esri Community account prior to the migration, and have had the same experience. We can help you get this sorted out. I'm going to send you a Private Message to confirm some details.

The Good:
- After the initial hiccups of Monday, the site seems to be pretty snappy.
- There are some new options in the post formatting that I'm excited to try.

How do spoilers work?

The Callout is really cool. I've seen some people use it on Ideas already, and I think that can lead to some really helpful things in getting people to actually read the important part of the post.

The toggle block is going to be a GAME CHANGER

I had a habit of using the Spoiler block on the old forums to hide big blocks of code. This is much nicer in that I can give it a header.

The big question is: Does it nest other types?

- I like that you can kudo comments on Ideas now.

- Multiple drafts per board (and being able to get to them all in one place) is SWEET.
  - I did a lot of half-writing a post, coming back with a different, more pressing post, and either rushing through the first post or copying it into notepad until I could come back to it.
- I haven't tested it, but the new embed feature is looking cool. It'll probably be helpful for the various product surveys that Esri puts out.
- The new search actually seems much better than the old one.
  - Should probably let you filter by post type, though.

The Needs Clarification:
- What is the difference between a Discussion and a Question?
  - It seems like I can't post a discussion to just any board?
- Can you set the language manually or does it guess or…?
- How do I find posts I've kudoed now?
  - This is especially important if I want to try to recreate my literal thousands of subscriptions. It's a bummer that they're gone, but not the end of the world. This was a pain point in the old forums, too.
- Where did the data management board go?

The Bad:
- I hate the default sort order for comments
- I'm really missing the differentiation between Ideas boards and product boards in general.
  - The fact that they're still different in some of the major product boards (Pro, Enterprise, etc.) is great in my book, but I was super confused when I couldn't find the same thing in the Survey123 board.
- Along those same lines, I would love to be able to subscribe to certain types of posts, namely Ideas. I was subscribed to various the Ideas boards before for certain products, but I don't want to be notified for questions for those products.
- I'm also annoyed by the default subscription being an in-website notification. I spend a lot of time on this site, no doubt about it, but I have 77 notifications right now and there's just no way I'm going to go through those. If it were important, it'd be an email.
  - I was wondering why I wasn't getting any new notifications
- Man, that kudos button is hard to find now. Tiny AND on the other side of the post.

- Bullets are still kind of messy.
  - Pasting a photo into the bulleted list made the line disappear.
  - I couldn't continue the bulleted list without making a line of plain text between it and the photo
  - Similarly, I had to make a new Parent bullet to get back on track.
  - Similar thing happened when I added callouts, etc.
  - Trying to paste bulleted text into a bullet list while writing this was disastrous and wiped out the entire list.
    - Thank you, Ctrl+Z.

I'd really like to be able to nest things better in bullets.

- Honestly, I'd like to just nest things in general. You can't use bullets in a callout? At least you can put them in Toggle blocks
- Inline code doesn't let you put in spaces, unless you type it out and then apply the inline code formatting
- As you can see above in my toggle, turning off some of those special markdowns is hard. I'm having a tough time putting a line beneath a codeblock, and I couldn't turn off the quote. To be fair, the old forums had similar issues, but this seems harder.
  - To be fair, that may be an extension of the nesting issue, because I did not have as hard of a time trying to do it just in the middle of the textbox
- "Preview Post" was not a feature I frequently used, but I am missing it now.
- More niche, but the "Share Post" feature was something that was very useful for me and I'm very much going to miss it.
  - Especially because I had been hoping it might get expanded to Ideas, too. A lot of Ideas for AGOL are equally applicable to Enterprise, for example.
    - Although in that case, it may make more sense to just make a general "Portal Ideas" board.
      - Although that may be more confusing, given that the term "Portal" changed to mean Enterprise (Or the other way around?) at some point and now everyone is confused.
        This is similar to how sometime between 2018 and 2021, "Desktop" stopped meaning a differentiation between Web GIS (AGOL, Enterprise) and Desktop applications (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro) and is now used to differentiate between ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. Pro is also a desktop application. Come on.
        Don't get me started on "shapefile".
- Holy cow why is this textbox so small to begin. Can we make it wider?
  - Is this just during the draft stage or is this narrow when it's posted?
- What happened to coloring text?
  - In my case, I can probably get around it by using Callouts (e.g. coloring error messages), but given that those don't nest in bullets, I'd like my text back.

The Hopes for the Future:
- Footnotes! Please!
- ~~Splitting cells in Tables~~
- Let me pin the boards I actually care about someplace easy. I have to go digging for Survey123 now.

I'm sure I'll think of other feedback, but that's it for now.

Have you tried typing on mobile yet? It's almost unusable for me. It takes half a second to render a character, and if you type too fast it will seemingly resolve the character entry in a random order, or reset your cursor to somewhere else in the text box.

I would give them more patience, but Discourse has existed for years now and is so much smoother than this.

I have the impression all "posts I follow" subscriptions were lost

@JenniferBorlick a quick follow-up on your comment to confirm that this was fixed last week: You should now be able to update your Esri Community username again if you would like.

Hi @s.schuette_ct - Correct, subscriptions from the previous platform were not carried over. This was called out ahead of the migration. However, in the new platform, you can follow Categories, User Groups and more. You can locate your Followed Content by going to Quick Links → Followed Content, where you can filter by Categories, Users, tags, User Groups, and Knowledge Base.

Regarding sort order for boards in general, is there an option for "last updated" that includes both recently commented and recently created?

Hi @AlfredBaldenweck, are you referring to the sort options for posts in the Latest Activity feeds? If so, they are:

Recently Commented: Posts that have most recently received a comment to those that haven't received a comment for the greatest amount of time.
Recently Created: Posts that were published most recently to oldest.
Top: Posts that have received the most likes (or votes) to those with the least.
Trending: Posts that are receiving the most combined comments and likes.
Oldest: Posts that were published the greatest length of time ago to those that were published most recently.

I'd like to see the most recent activity, be it from being commented on or just from being created. None of those options quite get at that function; recently Created and Recently commented are half of what I'm looking for, Top is just about kudos, and Trending only helps after the post has a kudos or comment.

If that's what you're looking for, then sorting by Recently Commented also includes a post's publish date towards this metric when it doesn't have any posts on it.

In Notifications we can mark all as read:

For Messages, I don´t see the same option (which would be useful):

Prior the migration I had read all messages, now many show up as "new" but opening them don´t mark them as read…

And you should fix the tooltip for the search ;)

This is a small thing, but I wonder if the email format is configurable?

In the previous Community emails, I got the title of the thread 'higher up' in the email subject, as seen in photo below:

But in the new Community emails, I first see the name of the Community member who posted the thread or comment:

Now there are of course individual ways around this. For example, I could simply expand the side bar showing my inbox:

But I still really prefer to see the topic first - that's what I use to determine if I will spend time reviewing the post or thread, rather than the Community member who posted.

I agree. Most of the time, the topic is more important to see straight out of the gate than the person who posted.

For example, I don't necessarily need to see every time someone posts in this topic but I don't want to unsubscribe from it, but if I had specific question for something that I posted, I wouldn't be able to skim my email topics quickly the way I am set up. I have to click on each email.

@AlfredBaldenweck, as of right now the sorting defaults are global and not something individuals can change per account.

@s.schuette_ct, thanks for catching the tooltip when hovering over the search icon. We're looking into a solution. As for the Messages (Private Messages), you're right that there isn't currently a way to mark these as read other than to open them up. Building out some additional Message features is something we have on a list of feature requests to review in a later post-migration phase.

Is there a way to see the number of answers (aka. solutions from prior platform) you have on your account?

I enjoyed seeing my rank and now can't find it on my profile. The only metric available is the Yearly Top Contributors on the Discussions page - but we use to be able to see weekly/monthly/yearly metrics.

I was looking for this too on specific product pages.

In the new platform, the leaderboard is configured to track post count and comment count. So a contribution is counted each time a member creates a new post or adds a comment. It does not track accepted answers, likes, or other engagement types only posts and comments.

so contributions to Community takes on a whole new meaning from its previous incarnations.

Hi @JonM32, @Laura, and @DanPatterson, the desire for expanded personal analytics is something we've noted as feedback. At least in the short term, there are differences between the old and new platforms so that some of those former metrics are not visible to members via the front end experience.

I miss having the related threads off to the side of a post. That way I could quickly scan through other discussions related to what I'm looking up, etc.

How can we actively track our kudos and solutions then as MVPs to ensure we are hitting the marks? @Brianna Ettley

Engagement metrics are limited right now, and we're actively looking at ways to expand what's available on the front end like Jesse mentioned. That said, the previous platform also didn't offer a clear way to track kudos and solutions within a specific period so it's not a big change from what was available before. That's exactly why I'll continue sending the quarterly MVP criteria trackers, so you have that visibility into your contributions each quarter.

@s.schuette_ct, a brief update on this: Though a Load More button for activity feeds isn't currently available, our team has increased the number of posts that show in most Latest Activity feeds from 10 to 25.

To clarify, the translation isn't actually "turned off" for this article. The real issue is that this Japanese document was migrated over from our previous platform, and AI Translations only processes content that is posted natively through the platform. Migrated/imported content doesn't get automatically translated, which is why it appears as though translation is disabled.

Unfortunately, this means migrated content like this won't be automatically translated going forward. As a workaround, please use your browser's built-in translation to view this content in your preferred language. I've also noted this in our How to Change Your Language Preference & Use Translation doc so others are aware of this limitation.
