Hi, Esri Young Professional Network,
I'm Shrishti Sharma, and I'm thrilled to join the Esri Young Professionals Network!
I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in GIS at Claremont Graduate University, where my research explores how geospatial technologies can help solve complex real-world challenges at the intersection of GIS, law, environmental sustainability, and public policy. My goal is to develop research that creates meaningful social impact through spatial analysis and evidence-based decision-making.
Before beginning my Ph.D., I completed an M.S. in Information Systems and Technology and worked in technology, project management, and technical content development. These experiences have strengthened my passion for applying GIS to address interdisciplinary challenges—from environmental resilience and infrastructure planning to policy and emerging technologies.
I'm especially excited because I'll be attending the ESRI User Conference 2026 in San Diego this week! It has been a dream of mine to experience the world's largest GIS conference, and I can't wait to hit the road, meet fellow GIS professionals, learn from industry leaders, and immerse myself in everything the conference has to offer.
I'm looking forward to connecting with researchers, students, GIS professionals, and Esri users from around the world. If you're attending the conference as well, I'd love to meet, exchange ideas, and learn about the amazing work you're doing.
See you in San Diego, and here's to learning, networking, and growing together through the Esri community!
