The June 2026 release of ArcGIS GeoBIM introduces improvements that make BIM-to-GIS workflows more focused, reliable, and easier to troubleshoot.
With new support for Revit named 3D view-based filtering, pre-sync and post-sync analysis report, and improved IFC georeferencing, teams can better control what BIM content is brought into GIS and troubleshoot sync issues more efficiently. These updates help teams create cleaner GIS experiences, reduce rework, and collaborate more effectively across BIM and GIS workflows.
Revit named 3D view-based filtering
ArcGIS GeoBIM now supports syncing Revit models using a dedicated 3D view named “3D ArcGIS” when running the Add Document Models tool.
This gives teams more control over which Revit families and categories are included by syncing only the content visible in that view. By preparing a purpose-built, ArcGIS-ready view in Revit, BIM teams can create cleaner, more focused 3D models that highlight relevant project information, improve processing speed, and support better collaboration with GIS teams.
Informed and Successful Syncing Experience
Pre-sync Analysis Report
The pre-sync analysis report lets you assess whether your project documents are spatially ready before synchronization and identify potential issues in advance. It reviews georeferencing and coordinate system information, including .prj files, user-defined WKIDs, and supported file versions. Once the analysis is complete, the report highlights missing or incomplete information and links to relevant resources to help resolve any issues. This helps teams prepare data with greater confidence, prevent avoidable sync failures, and reduce rework and delays.
Post-sync Error Report
The post-sync analysis report helps you understand sync outcomes and identify where issues occured. It reviews georeferencing, metadata, authentication, and other parts of the sync process to show what may have failed and links to relevant resources to help resolve the issue. This gives teams clearer feedback, helping them troubleshoot faster, prepare project data for ArcGIS with greater confidence, and keep coordination moving between BIM and GIS teams.
Improved georeferencing of IFC files
ArcGIS GeoBIM now provides improved georeferencing for IFC files, helping teams bring IFC models into GIS more reliably.
With more consistent model processing and placement, teams can spend less time resolving location issues and more time using trusted project data for coordination, visualization, and analysis.
