Coded Values in Domain Not Displaying in Symbology or ToC

I've created Coded Values in a Domain, for Parcels, to enumerate 10+ Zoning Categories. The Codes and their Descriptions have been created.

When I right click the Parcel layer in the ToC > Symbology > Primary Symbology: I choose Unique Values. I set Field 1 to Zoning_Category. On the Classes tab, I hit the Add All Values icon. Here's the problem: The Symbol only displays 6 symbols, even though there are 11 coded values available.

I DID click/check More > Include all other values, but the other classes do not get added to the Classes

How do I make both the Symbol column (Classes tab) and the Table of Contents to display all 11 classes?

Yes, you probably should create one fake record for each type then you should be able to fully create your symbology. After that, you can delete your fake features and your symbology will be ready when you have real data.

@DaveMartin1 I have run into this into the past where you might have to create a fake feature, one for each value. Then complete your symbology by clicking add all values. Once you complete that and get your symbology set up, delete your temporary features.

If you don't have a single feature for each class, it won't display in the TOC or Symbology column since there's nothing to show.

As my screenshot shows above, The Table of Contents and Symbology ARE displaying various rows for different coded values, just not all of them. I can't imagine the software would limit the number of coded values it's able to symbolize - to just 6 different value s. It seems random that it would show some, but not all.

Hoping there's a way to show all coded value classes...

Hello @DaveMartin1, in your attribute table do you have a record for each domain type?

I have not populated data into all categories yet. Do you think that will cause the various classes to display?

@Brian_McLeer , poking around looking for what might be causing the problem, I see that my Parcel FC is listed as being 32-bit. Is that OK? (Wondering if that's contributing to the problem). The GDB that the FC resides in ( Maywood Misc 2021.gdb) was created in Desktop a few years back. Did I need to do a conversion of any sort to make that GDB work properly in the 64-bit ArcGIS Pro era?

@DaveMartin1 hard to say, I have not encountered this one so I don't know if there is anything to convert. You could test by creating a new GDB in Pro, then do a feature class to feature class GP tool, then point your zoning layer at the new testing feature class in new GDB and see if that fixes it. To my knowledge, ArcGIS Pro should support FGDB from ArcMap.

I copied the Parcel FC into my new Default.gdb. Then I set the symbology to display Unique Values for the Zoning_Categories. It displays the categories in the Symbology pane, but not in the Table of Contents. Surprising and frustrating.

Still needing a solution for this : /

Sorry that didn't work, without seeing the data its hard to troubleshoot further. I think you have two options, I'd be happy to look at the data if you can share you GDB and export the Layer file, or create a support case.

Doooaaaffff!!!

I see I was on the List by Selection tab of the Table of Contents (ToC) all this time. When I change to the List By Drawing Order tab, all the coded value categories are displayed in the ToC as they should be.
