Cloning applications from AGO to Portal?

Hello! 

I'm trying to clone Storymaps from our orgs enterprise Portal to our AGO. I'm using AGO assistant, but after the clone the Storymap cannot be opened and is still missing associated maps, images, etc when viewed in edit mode. Is there another way to appropriately clone items over from Portal to AGO? It would be convenient to have a method for Experience Builder as well. Any help is appreciated.

I have used this documentation: Cloning and Troubleshooting Complex Items to successfully clone a StoryMap and other items, including Experiences from ArcGIS Online, to another ArcGIS Online subscription using ArcGISNotebooks.

You will need to set up Authentication.

Generate Token – ArcGIS REST API

 

Note: this document has been updated recently. Before, when you cloned an item, the feature layers included remained sourced from the original. Now, the layers are copied over (with new item ID's, but still connected to your StoryMap, Map or Experience. This makes the whole process seamless and very simple to do. 

This script clones from. Create the ArcGIS Notebook in the target subscription; for you, this would be ArcGIS Online.
