Adding alt text to media images on the Choices sheet (Survey123 Connect - XLS form)

Hi everyone,

I have a survey that was built in Survery123 Connect and several of the choices in the choices sheet of the survey have media (images) associated with them (please see screen capture 1). I cannot figure out how to add alt text to these images without adding the images to note questions and/or adding the image to the choice's label via html tags.

Is there any way to add alt text directly to the images that are associated with choices? When I look at the .webform file associated with my survey, the alt text for each image says "image," (please see screen capture 2), but I don't see anywhere in the form to actually change this. And updating the .webform doesn't do anything.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I had tried your approach above and it does work, but the downside of referencing the images that way (with html tags) is that in the Survey123 app, you can no longer expand or zoom in on the images. When the image is referenced in the media::image column, the end user can expand it to full screen and zoom in, which is really handy on small screens.

I actually reached out to ESRI yesterday to describe the issue with the question's label not being used automatically as the alt text. They responded that this is a known issue and that they will prioritize fixing it, yay!

Guess I was able to figure it out.

In the label column of the choices sheet we need to add the HTML syntax/code for alt attribute while making sure that the images are present in the media folder of the survey and then publish the survey.

Am attaching screenshots for reference.
