Can't use ArcGIS since recent renewal

Question

My single use license recently updated. When I attempt to start ArcGIS however, I get an error message saying the number of licenses assigned to users exceeds the number of licenses available to your organisation and to contact my administrator to reconfigure. As far as I know, I am my organisaton's administrator. How do I fix this?

I have the same problem with ArcGIS Pro 3.6. Apart from that, before my ArcGIS Pro expired, I renewed, only to find that for 2026-2027 it automatically renewed, so now I have two years subscription each having a Download. If I need to download which one should I use?

Are you using ArcGIS for Personal Use?  The User Type included with ArcGIS for Personal Use changed from Professional Plus to Personal Use. Can you sign into ArcGIS Online (https://arcgis.com) and change the User Type of your account?

Would this be ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or online only that you are having problems with?

ArcMap (typically being versions of 10.x) has been fully retired/deprecated so new licenses are not being issued. In this case you would have to contact sales or support to see what your options are.
