With group layers being supported in ArcGIS online and not in AercGIS for PowerBI, we are facing issues when users try to add these layers to their PowerBI reports. It is not possible in PowerBI to search for the group layer, and one have to manually go into the group layer in ArcGIS Online and find the names of the separate layers and then add them one by one, provided that they are even available to the user as separate layers.
In many instances the symbology, styling, filtering etc., is also only applied to the layer in its group layer form, and will not appear when loading the layers in separately. This leads to a lot of extra work for the user, that have to go in and change the styling themselves and save and publish their own layers in web maps. In a larger organization this might lead to a lot of redundant data, as well as inconsistent symbology reducing the credibility of data marked as authoritative.
It would therefore be very helpful if support for group layers could also be added in ArcGIS for PowerBI. If not possible to add the group layers in PowerBI as we now have in ArcGIS Online, it would at least be beneficial to be able to search for the name of the group layer, and have all of the layers under it show up so that the user more easily can find and ensure that all the layers in the group layer is added.
