Way for symbology to be automatically applied when loading a layer?

Hi all, just like the question states. Is there a way to automatically load symbology from a subtype field once imported into GIS Pro? We have agreed to a common symbology for layers in our organization, so I'm curious about that

You can also apply representations to feature classes, which is a more hard-coded approach. Documentation is here: Draw layers with representations.

Edit - I suppose I'm dating myself by thinking of representations, because this has been discontinued in ArcGIS Pro. As Alfred mentioned, you can use a layer file. Another option would be to use ArcGIS Pro styles.

You should use a layer file.

They let you store symbology, labels, definition queries (filters), etc. for reuse.

May be something to try, if you name the symbology the same as the feature class you want the symbology to load for, if you have the style in the project then if you had the feature class it may come in with the symbology. Pretty sure this was how it worked in ArcMap. Defer to Alfred's answer though as sure method though.
