Editing Permissions Restricted for owner, Data and services

I have a map and dashboard associated with the map in which I am the owner of both, though I am not the owner of the data. I can edit the dashboard but I can no longer edit the map. I have a popup window saying:

 

Editing permissions

Editing is restricted but you have privileges to edit layers that you own or administer.

 

This restriction prevents me, in the Web Editor, from adding layers or removing them from the map. So at its most basic I am coming into a roadblock.

 

Any suggestions at possible settings that I can look at to fix this?

Hi @CascadeDiver, 

Part 1: This notice that you see is simply an alert, not an error: 

It means that you have privileges to perform any edits on the layer, while others may be restricted in what they can do based on the editing settings (only add features, only update features, etc). 

2. Web Editor does not support adding new layers to a map, with the exception of temporary layers. You'll want to use Map Viewer to add new layers to a map. After the map is saved then you will see those layers in downstream apps like Web Editor and Dashboards.
