Monitoring Multiple Portal Machines with the Same Computer Name

Hello,

I am using Monitor version 2025.0.1 and attempting to monitor two different Portal machines (single deployment). Both machines share the same computer name but have different IP addresses, domains, and web context URLs.

This setup exists because we are in the process of migrating from one zone to another and need to keep both machines running for a period of time.

Currently, Monitor displays only one of the machines, the one whose Windows process was started most recently.

Although we can see differences in the IP addresses and services for each machine, only one instance is visible at any given time, not both simultaneously.

Could anyone please advise on how we can configure Monitor to distinguish and display both machines?

Let me try to clarify since this issue is long hold back for us...

We wish to understand where the portal component is keeping it's system_id.
I managed to track the system_id for the server unser System->Properties and once I deleted it I managed to monitor the cloned achine as the 2 seperate servers (As they are).
I fail to track where the machine holds the system_id for Portal (typed 'arcgis_portal' on the table you shared)

Can you please direct us?

Hi @IrisHadarStltd,

Something to check that the two hosts have different system IDs in Monitor: can you please navigate to Monitoring tab > Components subtab.

In the components table, look under the System ID column for the two hosts, are they different?

They should be different for Monitor to distinguish between the two hosts.

Note, that I can't confirm since I don't have the same setup as yourself, but I suspect that adding a HOSTS entry on the AGM server with a different name to the IP address of one of the machines might let AGM fully distinguish between them.

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Worth a try and let us know how it goes.
