Draw a countryside path as a polygon, but with a fixed width

Hi all,

I often need to map paths in the countryside. If the layer only has polygon types, it is possible to stream or freehand one side of the path, close it off, then have Pro reshape it, so it's a fixed with from one side?

At the moment, I use a tempoary polygon to follow one side of the path. Then use the trace tool to follow the temp shape with an offset, turn the off-set off, then follow the side of the temp shape to complete the polygon. Delete the tmp shape.

Is there an easier approach?

I think I'd be more tempted to use your own temporary line feature class, stored wherever you wish, to draw the route of your paths. Then buffer the line feature class with your polygon layer as the target (at whatever width you see fit) to generate the paths. That way at least you're only drawing the lines once
