Hi, I'm currently troubleshooting performance issues in my storymap, particularly involving the Sidecar feature. I've observed the following: * When using sidecar and clicking on tabs with actions like zoom-in, the map briefly turns white and becomes extremely laggy. * Even when interacting with maps outside of sidecar, simply zooming in causes similar lag and white background. * Occasionally, I also receive an out-of-memory error during interaction with the storymap. These issues occur consistently across different computers and browsers, so it doesn't appear to be a local machine issue. From what you described (white screen flash, lag, and occasional out-of-memory errors), it does sound like the issue stems from how the maps are being rendered and interacted with inside the story. I’ve run into similar challenges when working with large web maps or multiple map actions in a short sequence.

A few practical things I’d recommend based on experience:

Simplify the map layers: If you’re using complex symbology or too many visible layers, try reducing or generalizing the data. Even tiled layers can help improve load performance.
Minimize zoom/fly actions in Sidecar tabs. Keeping the map view static across tabs or reducing the number of triggered actions can prevent redraw lag.
Use static images for non-interactive sections: If a tab doesn’t require live interaction, exporting the map as a static image can help improve the experience.
Limit overlapping media types: Avoid using video, web maps, and embeds all in the same panel.
Test performance in a clean browser session, just to eliminate local caching or extension conflicts.

If it still lags, it’s worth escalating to Esri Support — I’ve seen similar memory issues in dynamic maps before. Happy to take a closer look if needed.
