Map Layers and Legend Widget show no items

Hello,

I have duplicated an Experience that one of my colleagues created and would like to use it like a template and repurpose it for another project. I have swapped out the map for the one that I need. The experience contains Map Layers and Legend widgets. Both are connected to my new map but I get a notification that says "there are currently no items to display." in both of the widgets. How do I get the widgets to display the layers in my new map?

I ended up saving another copy of the experience that I was using as a template. When I swapped the map out for mine, the widgets worked as expected right away.

Hi @SarahRijneke

This looks weird. The Legend widget will show "No legend" before content is loaded - this is something we're aware of, but not something we can control. We are in the process of communicating with the corresponding team to see if they can enhance it.

But, for the Map Layers, I did not reproduce what you described. I tried both modes, using the floating or fixed panel inside the Controller widget - I cannot see the empty warning in either of them. Is it possible to share the URL with us to take a further look at it?

Thanks for the suggestions. All of the layers are checked on in the Map Layers widget. When I switch them on and off the widget flickers slightly and then continues to display the no items to display message.

I don't believe the map is in another layout panel etc. My experience only contains one Page, so that isn't the issue either. It's strange that the layers appear when I select the show layers for map data only and then disappear when I choose Interact with a Map widget.

In addition to the cases @JaredPilbeam2 mentioned above, there is also a case when your map is in another layout panel that does not load, which could cause the behavior as well. Such as, in a hidden section view, or in another page, etc.

Ok. Did you go into the Map Layers widget and select any layers? When none are selected you'll also get that message.

Yes, you can see in my screen capture that I chose MainMap from the dropdown and the Active Transportation Implementation Plan map is listed below that. When I click show layers from map only the layers are visible. I want the user to be able to switch the layers on and off though so I turned on Interact with a Map widget.

Back in the Map widget are you sure it is selected? That happens when no map is selected, for ex:
