Hyperspectral imagery

Hi,

I'd like to learn more about hyperspectral imagery. Specifically, where to find it, how to analyze it, and if there are any tutorials available within the ESRI Training or Learn environments. There's an MOOC starting in October 2025 but I would like to get started now. I'm especially interested in international data. I would appreciate any insights or suggestions. Thanks.

On the AVIRIS portal, based on what product is selected, you can see the coverage. If you zoom in you can see the tiles, and when selected, you can see it shows up on the top with a link. If you use the downward arrow, it can show you what products are available and when clicked on the product, it will take you to Earthdata Login page. Once you login, you should be able to download the image tile. [see image attached for reference].

As for Pro license level, see this ArcGIS Pro license levels—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

This can help you will what tools are available depending on the Pro level and that should help you with your question, if you can do the workflow or not.

You can also download the data from Wyvern open portal: Access Open Data - Hyperspectral Data

On Wyvern, if you scroll down you will see that data is available by industry or spectral range. Anyways depending on what is freely available, you can download the image as COG [cloud optimized geotiff]

Okay, thanks RV. That seems to have worked (and I had to create a profile in EarthData) although it put the tile in the middle of the Gulf of America but that should just be a projection issue. The good news is that I can do this at the Basic license level so that helps. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. I went to the AVIRIS Data portal. How do I download a tile as an image file? Also, I'm at the Basic license level. Will that impede the workflow? Thanks.
