Hello—The blog post mentions a promotion for a free retake if an exam is taken between these dates.

2025 Free Certification Exam Retake Promotion

PersonVUE has emailed me the promo, which they state to use at checkout. However, the promo code is invalid on Esri's website. Their email and the Esri blog post conflict.

Are we meant to purchase a voucher and take the exam, and use the free retake promo code to get another voucher after the test has been taken?

Hi @DPatrickLunn. There was some confusion on the steps for the Pearson VUE retake promo since this was a different workflow than the first promotion they offered in December. Apologies! Please be sure to follow the steps below to take advantage of this promotion:

Here’s how it works:

Visit the Pearson VUE site and follow the instructions to opt-in to receive your exam retake promo code via email.
Purchase a voucher for the Esri technical certification exam you’d like to take.
Register to take your exam on or before June 12, 2025 - apply the free retake promo code you received via email at checkout and pay for your exam using the Esri exam voucher you purchased (you will input two separate codes for this step - the free retake promo code and the Esri exam voucher code)
If you don’t pass the exam on your first attempt, schedule and take a second attempt between July 07, 2025 – January 20, 2026 on the Pearson VUE website — at no cost to you! No need to re-enter the promo code.

Hi @DPatrickLunn apologies for the delayed reply. This promo code should be used on the Pearson VUE website to apply as "payment" for the second attempt. It will not work to purchase an additional Esri exam voucher in Esri Academy. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hey Tina -

I realize you need the voucher to take the exam, I am asking specifically for the coupon code that allows for free retakes. Esri store doesn't allow for me to use the retake coupon when checking out. PersonVUE States to use that promo code at checkout but it shows invalid.

Hi @DPatrickLunn. That is correct. You will need to purchase an Esri exam voucher, then use that voucher code as the "payment" within the Pearson VUE website to register to take your exam.
