I am requesting the ability to copy or duplicate forms in Field Maps Designer—either by feature layer or hosted feature layer—and apply them to new layers. Currently, it is possible to duplicate the web map/forms as a whole, but not the forms alone. This feature would be especially useful when schema changes occur, helping to eliminate the time needed to rebuild complex forms from scratch.
I have extensive forms built for GPS data collection in Field Maps. These forms streamline the process by reducing the need for manual typing in the field and minimizing the potential for typos. Some features have 15+ attributes, including multiple dropdowns and radio buttons. I also configure defaults to accelerate data collection—for example, setting the date to default to the current day and pulling elevation data directly from the GNSS receiver. Setting up these forms takes a significant amount of time.
While I understand that schema changes can impact forms, it would still be extremely helpful to copy or partially rebuild a form, rather than having to start over entirely.
I’ve explored the JSON file copying workflow, but the three-dot menu is not visible, and I couldn’t locate the JSON file. I've also looked into workflows that require coding knowledge, but unfortunately, I’m not proficient in that area.
A built-in feature to copy a form—without requiring coding skills—would be incredibly helpful and save a great deal of time and effort.
I've logged an enhancement ENH-000176265.
I hope you'll consider this.
