Table Widget "Use Layer Settings"

Use what settings, under "Configure Fields"? I have set visibility, display names, and order in Field Maps and the Visualization area in AGOL and nothing changes in the table. So what is that really connected to besides defaults or alphabetical? Yes, I have checked I am connected to the right layer in the right map for the Field Maps part.

I submitted a help ticket to Esri and cited this community thread. Esri confirmed that this is a bug (BUG-000181704). As of today, this bug is still "in review", which means it is not on the developer to-do list yet.

If this is causing you problems, please:

1. Submit a help ticket to Esri describing this problem

2. Have Esri support add you to BUG-000181704

3. In MyEsri > Support > Bugs & Enhancements, add additional information describing the impact of this bug on your work. This will raise the importance of addressing this bug in the queue.

We have found this workaround

Manually in some setting in ExB buried deep - you have to flip it from honor the layer properties, to custom (to get it to actually honor the layer properties). Then if there are more than 50 fields you have to scroll through and turn them back on, because it restricts to 50 by default when you do that for some reason.

Same issue! We have done all the settings in the web map and the EXB doesn't follow it when using Interact with Map widget option

Hi @Shen_Zhang,

Just wondering if this issue is likely to be addressed in the upcoming update? I've just come across this problem myself and have a table where I want to configure the same layer in multiple sheets with different filters but it is ignoring the pop up settings that are applied in both the map and to the layer via the visualisation tab. This means I will have to configure 40 plus fields multiple times.

Also, is there any possibility that the ability to duplicate sheets in a table may be added soon? This would align it with the options you have for views in a section and would be a great time saving addition.

We have the same issue it keeps using alphabetical and ignores our field order which we spent a ton of time on. Even when using Layer settings. We found that if you flip to customize it then goes back to DB field order. This is really the opposite of what it should do.

Where is the world is alpha even coming from? No Arc product has ever done that.

Then is you use the select tool and then view in table those results it yet again goes back to alphabetical sometimes. Just so inconsistent.

Please take out alphabetical everywhere to fix this for good. DB order is what we will always want.

Also if more than 50 fields you have to turn them on manually.

Did anyone find a solution to this? I'm getting the same issue. EXB table widget has 'Use layer settings' option selected, but it doesn't honour the pop up settings configured in the web map. The table in EXB just displays in some other order that I haven't set - I think it is an order I set up days ago and then changed.

@Shen_Zhang Came here because of the same issue. I spent a good deal of time reorganizing a substantial pop-up from a Survey123 feature layer and it seems I have to do it all over again in the Exp Builder table. Afraid of having to do it all again if I republish or mess with the data at all now.

I'm still a bit unsure why the pop-up needs to be reorganized for Survey123 feature layers, but I can stomach doing it the once if necessary. Doing it multiple times though is pretty tedious and just increases chance of error.

Update: Selecting "Customize" instead actually brought it in line with the pop-up from my Map Viewer.

@Shen_Zhang it seems to be glitching for me too. I have settings for the pop up and the table view saved to the layer. Both the pop ups and table look good in the map, but are wrong in ExB. I've tried refreshing, re-saving, and republishing everything I can think of. I also removed and added the table sheet to the table widget, but I cannot get it to reflect the appearance in the map.

Well then something was glitching, because that did not happen. I set up everything in the map pop up. I did it all manually in the end. And don't want to try again to then have to do it manually again if I don't have to.

@vic7oria When "Use layer settings", the settings come from your layer field settings from the popup settings in the Map Viewer.

I did not want to be "customizing" this layer for each experience builder. Or just lightly customize. So even though we may have set new standards on the layer itself, the table widget will only look at the default. Annoying.

Your question is in EXB. Are we talking about this map in EXB or strictly field maps?
