How to edit symbology of a map service ?

Hi all, like the question says. I was trying to edit the symbology of a map service through AGOL but found absolutely no options. Is there another way to do this that I am not aware of? Do I do this through ArcMap with its feature service there?

Hi @GeorgeJones,

What type of layer are you using?

If styling is supported for the layer type you are using, you will see the styles button on the light toolbar in Map Viewer. If styling is not supported for that type of layer, it will not be visible.

You should be able to go to the 'Visualisation' tab from the item (hosted feature layer) overview page.  Click on the 3 dots by the feature in the map view and go to Properties, symbolize with the tab on the RHS and Save.  This should update the default symbology.
