'Failed to fetch error'

I am trying to connect to some spatial data in Portal using ArcGIS for PowerBI.

I can log in following adding 'allow origins' as outlined here: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/microsoft-365/latest/power-bi/configure.htm

However when I try to bring in a feature layer, I get a 'failed to fetch' error.

It is worth noting that:

• This error is in both PowerBI Desktop and PowerBI Web
• I have tried accessing an AGOL and different Portal, and did not get the same error, which indicates it's likely linked to the specific Portal/Enterprise rather than my set up of PowerBI

I'm working with IT colleagues to understand if it's something linked to the IT environment blocking a connection, but I'm wondering if anyone has come across this error in ArcGIS for PowerBI and has a steer on how to work through this error?

In many cases, this error indicates a CORS-related issue. A network-related or security setting may be blocking the Power BI application. Please consult your GIS admin, or IT/network team before proceeding with the suggestions below 

In addition to ensuring that the listed domains here are added to your Enterprise, make these checkpoints

1) Ensure that Portal is not restricting the PowerBI web URL 

Sign in to the ArcGIS Server Administrative endpoint (http(s)://server.domain.com:6443/arcgis/admin)

• Click System > Handlers > rest > servicesdirectory
• Under Supported Operations, click "Edit"
• For the "allowedOrigins" > If you do not have this set to a wildcard (*), ensure that the listed URLs include "https://app.powerbi.com "

 

2) Configure browsers for ArcGIS Enterprise when using ArcGIS for Power BI

 

3) Please contact your IT department to verify if there are any firewall settings or restrictions blocking access to the Power BI (web and desktop). Ensure you are also using the latest version of Powerbi desktop.
