Are there differences between EXB experience created by developer edition on ArcGIS-Online, to that created on portal?

Since I can create Custom Widgets by EXB Developer Edition, no matter if it's connected to credentials app created on portal or on ArcGIS-Online, I wonder if there are any differences at all between the capabilities of EXB Experience created by EXB Developer Edition on portal or on ArcGIS-Online.

As long as you are using the same version of Developer Edition, your widgets should work the same connected to either ArcGIS Online or Enterprise.
