Start ArcGISPro from an external Application

Hi, I need to develop a .exe application that can start ArcGIS Pro and perform certain actions on the Feature layers and save the edits in the gdb. Using CoreHost Application iam able to start ArcGIS Pro but unable to access the FrameworkApplication. It is null even after starting ArcGISPro.  Any inputs in this regard will be really helpful. Thanks in Advance!

Is there a reason you can't perform the required edits using arcpy?  Arcpy can likely provide equivalent functionality without having to launch ArcGIS Pro. 

I imagine there is a reason, but I wanted to mention it in case it hadn't been considered.  An application that launches Pro just to make edits to data in a geodatabase seems overly complex to me.
