I use ArcGIS online to create maps that I then use for field maps. Recently when I have been trying to create the offline area in field map designer I have been having issues. When I go to sync the layers to create the offline map I get a message saying that the layer does not have a global id and that it can't be used in offline mode. When I would try and create an offline area with that layer in the map it would fail to make the offline area. I then went into ArcPro and added global id's to the shps and tried putting those in the map. The error message about the global id went away but when I go to create the offline area it just says "packaging" forever and never actually packages. Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing it to not make the offline areas? Below is my general work flow:
- Create shps in ArcPro
- Put shps in a zip folder, I have also tried saving them to a GDB and using that.
- Upload shps/ GDB into ArcGIS online map
- Save map and update sharing to organization
- Open field maps designer
- go to offline mode, sync layers, then go to manage offline areas and create a new area.
