Field Maps Photo Capture Error - App Freezing

Question

When taking a photo within a project map using the photo location feature, the app freezes once the photo is taken, and “use photo” button does not work. The retake button also freezes and in order to return to the map, the map must be closed and the app reopened. Taking a photo outside of the app and attaching it works.

Has anybody encountered this issue before? Is it an image size issue?

We have not had the same issue happening with iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 13's, just the iPhone 11's recently.

Device: iPhone 11, iOS 17.6

Field Maps version: 24.2.0, Build 1067

Thanks @Colin   According to this post (https://support.esri.com/en-us/bug/in-arcgis-field-maps-version-2420-when-capturing-an-ima-bug-000168946) the issue has apparently been fixed in version 24.2.1. Do you know when this update will be avilable?

Hi @KatelynO , this sounds like a known issue that we are investigating and should have an update out that addresses this in the near future. For reference, there is a public bug number here: BUG-000168946

For now, can you try adjusting the photo size in the Collection settings to something less than "Actual"? The other workaround as you noted would be to take the photos outside of the app and attach them from your gallery. Thanks!
