ArcGIS Web Editor should have Add Layer option

ArcGIS Web Editor should have option to add layer by themselves. Latest version, If I need to edit new layer, the process has many step,

1. Open map viewer

2. Add Layer in web map

3. Save web map

4. Open ArcGIS Web Editor

5. Browse Web map again

6. Edit the new layer.

It should has option to add layer by ArcGIS Web Editor as I attached image below.

Please bear with us with Web Editor as this is the initial release. There is a lot more editing functionality still to come including things such as auto-complete.

One of the advantages of Web Editor is that it is a focused application specifically for editing. As i mentioned in an earlier post, if we start adding additional functionality not specific to editing, then we over complicate things for those just looking to edit. Not all organizations have the same workflows and personas within their organization, so we believe the simplified editing experience we can create with Web Editor is appropriate on the web as opposed to a single do everything application.

Experience Builder is designed to allow organizations to create applications targeting the specific workflows they need to address. These workflows can include editing, geoprocessing, etc. The workflows you can target with Experience Builder can be very specific hence the need for a large variety of widgets including editing.

We are aware of the need for similar capabilities within the Edit Widget for Experience Builder as what users are accustomed to with WebApp Builder and the Edit, Smart Editor, and Batch Attribute Editor widgets. Expect those capabilities to be available with the Edit Widget and possibly other widgets for Experience Builder in the next release or two.

We are thinking there will still be an editing widget in Experience Builder like that like that in Web AppBulder with all the editing functionalities.

This tool does not include Auto Complete. This is one of the most used tools in our organization. Without this feature in the editing realm moving to Web Editor will not be possible. Is there a way to embed Web Editor within Experience Builder app?

We're thinking Experience Builder will have its own editing tool that is as capable as the one in Web AppBuilder, and this Web Editor tool is just another additional application?

Should Experience Builder not be the application for everything including editing? So every time we have to run geoprocessing tools, print maps, etc. or edit features we should not have to work in two different apps. To run geoprocessing tools we use Experience Builder but to edit we use Web Editor?

There's got to be a way to include editing tool with merge, cut, auto complete, reshape, trace, etc. within Experience Builder as well.

Thanks for the input. We've put a lot of thought into capabilities like this. We realize the number of steps involved in adding a layer and similar processes. Web Editor is meant to be a focused editing app, though, so the moment we open the door to that type of functionality you have to ask about changing symbology, defining the Feature Form and popup, etc. Start adding too much and you complicate the editing experience.

We will most likely support adding layers in a later release as part of the configuration process, but as with other topics, waiting for more feedback.
