Using a map image layer (ie not feature layer) with the Chart Widget

Question

Hi, I am using Enterprise v 11.1. I want to use the Chart Widget to create a bar or pie chart using date loaded in as a map image layer rather than a feature layer. When I try to assign the fields for the chart (either by group or by field) I get an error. A little error triangle appears on the chart and says "failed to load". It works if I use a feature layer.

Should the chart widget be able to work with a map image layer?

Hi @azainomv, I am afraid you cannot do so. As when you share the map publicly, every data on the map have to go shared together. You may check with ArcGIS Online Map viewer community as well.

I'm having the same issue. I am hoping to release the map to the public, but I want only the map image layer public and not the feature layer. Please advise.

Thanks for your feedback! Experience Builder Chart widget does support map image layer. 
I cannot reproduce the problem using map image layer on my side.

Would you be able to share the data or repro app for us to take a further investigation?
