How Can you use an organization's locator that isn't on AGOL

Question

I've created a survey in the Survey123 Connect app and would like to use my organization's locator. The locator is public but not in AGOL, it's in our organization's portal. How would I use that locator in my survey? Previous examples show people listing the item ID of the locator service but this locator doesn't have one because it's not hosted on AGOL.

Have you tried to Configure a proxy locator item as described here?

Also worth noting, but I believe that all public surveys are hard-coded to use the default ArcGIS World Geocoder service.
