Esri DevSummit 2024 Plenary Day I: A Look at ArcGIS from the Developer Perspective

The plenary on the first day of Esri DevSummit 2024 in Palm Springs offered a deep insight into ArcGIS from the developer perspective. It was emphasized that ArcGIS should be viewed not just as a set of products, but as a set of capabilities that developers can use to get their work done and solve digitalization challenges.<\/P>

Quality-assured geoinformation and capabilities are provided as a set of Location Services, which can either be managed within your own infrastructure or hosted and scaled in the cloud.<\/P>ArcGIS: A Variety of Spatial and Temporal Analysis Capabilities<\/H2>It was emphasized that ArcGIS should be considered as a set of spatial and temporal analysis capabilities. These capabilities can be applied in numerous areas, such as field service, analysis and visualization of real-time data, or classic spatial geoanalysis.<\/P><\/span><\/P>Developer Tools and Resources<\/H2>A comprehensive range of developer tools and resources was presented, including guides, tutorials, APIs, and best practices. These resources are designed to ensure that developers succeed quickly regardless of the capability used or the extended ArcGIS product.<\/P>Mapping APIs and Services<\/A> <\/P>

New APIs and Services<\/H2>New APIs and services were introduced, including the Places service with over 50 million POIs worldwide and a new Basemap Styles Service. Additionally, a new Static Basemap Tile Service was presented, combining the flexibility of vector-styled basemaps with the simplicity of static raster tiles. This ensures very good rendering performance even on low-performance devices.
