Keep the layers exported from Excel available within the map.

I created an Excel table with X, Y then published it to the map, later took it online, and used it to create a dashboard.<\/P>

After closing Excel, the connection with the online layer was lost and then if I modify the Excel file it no longer updates the online layer.<\/P>

1. I should be able to modify the range of the Excel table and have it update in the Excel map.<\/LI>
2. From Excel there should be an option that allows you to choose the layer it is linked to online in order to update it.<\/LI>
3. If I create a map in Excel with several layers, I should be able to save the project so I can open it exactly as it is and not lose everything in case of restoring the map.<\/LI><\/OL>

I understand the connection with the ArcGIS Online layer is 'lost' after closing Excel and reopening the map. I am not entirely clear on the workflow provided. If you can please provide additional information. 

1. When you said, you created a table within Excel - Is this in Desktop?

2. I assume you published to ArcGIS Online? - Is this Enterprise?

3. What is meant by online? - Microsoft 365 Excel online or something else. 

4. When you closed the Excel project you can no longer make edits so I assume you'd like the edits you are making to sync to the shared map?
