HTML Windows won't open when display parameters change

We make extensive use of HTML Windows and ArcGIS Earth Automation API in our organisation.

When a user closes ArcGIS Earth, the position of the HTML Windows (in pixels) is automatically written in the html_windows.json file (...\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\ArcGISEarth). Everything works fine as long as the user stays in the same environment.

But users tend to switch between 2 workstations nowadays : home and office. When a user switch between these two environments, it is common to see that the HTML window won’t open anymore. (I believe it is because the display parameters are different : number and/or size of screens differ.)

Right now, to correct the problem, we have to :

1. Remove the HMTL Windows
2. Close and reopen ArcGIS Earth
3. Add the HTML Windows again

Is there a way we can mitigate this problem ?

P.S. : Right now, we are still using ArcGIS Earth 1.18.

Thank you for reaching out and detailing the issue with the HTML Windows.

We understand that the problem you're facing is likely due to variations in display parameters, such as screen numbers or screen resolutions, when users switch between their home and office workstations. This discrepancy can cause the HTML window not to open correctly.

We have noted this issue and intend to address it in our future release. While we work on resolving this, as a temporary workaround, we recommend setting the parameter to "0" for the position in the html_windows.json file after switching machines ("position": "0,0"). This adjustment should allow the window to display at the top left corner.

Once the issue is resolved, we will promptly notify you of the update. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.
