There are already several ways you can utilize Excel or tabular information in StoryMaps.

If you are using Office 365, you can share your spreadsheets on the web and add them to a story or briefing using the Embed option. Simply be sure share the spreadsheet publicly and use the share link instead of copying the link from the browser address bar.
We just added a new Table block option that lets you add a simple table directly to a story. This lets you provide a basic tabular structure to summarize information for your readers. For more information, see What’s new in ArcGIS StoryMaps (August 2023) (esri.com)
