I have recently purchased the ArcGIS Desktop for Personal Use Term License to replace the deprecated Plus License.
Inside of Illustrator I have been unsuccessful to get authenticated via the extension. Since the Plus Account is not available I have tried to select the ArcGIS Online sign-in option but I receive an error message. I am using the same credentials that I have always used.
It indicates: "An ArcGIS Viewer, Editor, Creator or GIS Professional user type is required for sign in."

What version of the extension are you currently on? If you're not on the latest version, can you try updating? Let me know if that fixes this issue.
