Utility Network viewing feature classes in ArcMap

I understand to edit and view the Utility Network all of this must be done in ArcGIS Pro. Can anyone tell me if the feature classes in the Utility Network are still visible in ArcMap? We use Cityworks and our vendor told us that services displaying in Cityworks (right now at least) need to be published from ArcMap. So I am hoping if we migrate to the Utility Network that those feature classes could still be viewed and published from ArcMap.

A Utility Network Service is accessible through a combination of capabilities, including feature services. You will not be able to leverage the newer functionality such as Utility Network Layer, Branch Versioning or Network Diagrams.

Additional services can be published from the utility network feature classes without the utility network layer:

You may want to clarify with the vendor if their product is reliant on the ArcMap runtime and so will not work with any ArcGIS Pro services; this may require you to test and confirm that additional services will need to be published from ArcMap following the second option listed above.

Hmm I had not considered that option which is good in some aspects if I have users refusing to make the switch. However I only need to add them to ArcMap in order to publish a service that plugs into the Cityworks software.

@LaurenLumHee I don't connect to City Works, but I have created Read only feature services, within the ArcGIS Enterprise environment, for consumption in older applications like ArcMap.

The key thing is to curate the services as not editable, and not load your actual network in the service. In my current example, I have just my network lines loaded into my ArcGIS Pro Map, publish to ArcGIS Enterprise, and that service which I created I can load into ArcMap.

Ah okay. Well that is one way to tackle it. I was hoping for something a bit more dynamic, but thank you for your response.

For our users that require to "view only" our UN data through ArcMap I export the Asset Package and let them view that .gdb. The biggest con to this is the database is only updated as much as I export the Asset Package which at this point is only once a month. I have not found any other way to get the data viewable in ArcMap since you get errors if you try to load a UN enabled service or .gdb.
