Does anyone give a simple test when interviewing potential hires? Like a basic knowledge test?

I usually ask these questions:

* What is GIS?
* Projected vs Geographic Coordinate System
* What is a datum?
* Vector vs Raster data with some examples
* Ask about basic geoprocessing tools, differences in expected results (buffer, clip, union, intersect, etc)
* Select by Attribute vs Select by Location
* Join vs Spatial Join
* Topology vs Topography
* Shapefiles vs Feature Class
* Where can you go to find authoritative data? (a good example is any govt agency GIS site)
* Web GIS - Have you published data to ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, what is the difference between a Map and an App, map vs feature service
* Simple python/model builder questions
* What resources do you use to find solutions (Geonet, GIS Stack Exchange, etc)
* Basic map elements
