Layer Visualization displaying Map Viewer interface, not Classic - not honouring Settings

Question

In both My Settings and the Organization Settings, the Primary map viewer is set to Map Viewer Classic. However the Visualization tab for some layers shows the new Map Viewer interface rather than the Map Viewer Classic interface. Confusingly, some layer's Visualization shows the Map Viewer Classic interface.

Is there a Setting somewhere at the layer level to determine which map viewer is used?

You would have to change a typekeyword on the item info with ago-assistant. What are you trying to do in Map Viewer Classic that is not in new Map Viewer under the visualization tab?

So no way of reverting to the Map Viewer Classic Visualization?

With layers that have been saved from new Map Viewer will show that latest map viewer under the visualization tab. This is due to the enhancements made to Map Viewer would not been seen in a Map Viewer Classic visualization tab and you could end up erasing all changes you made like

- Advanced symbols and new styles

- Popup elements

- Multiple Label classes and labeling styling

- layer and feature effects

- blend modes

- feature display order

and more I'm not thinking of off the top of my head 🙂
