Hiding Public Items

Question

We have a StoryMap shared with a Hub. The StoryMap has 10 maps built into it. When we shared the StoryMap, it can be found in the Hub search results, but so can all of the maps/layers that are a part of the StoryMap. Why is this, and how can I hide those items from the public while maintaining the public share setting so that users are not prompted to login when they view the StoryMap?

I don't need these layers as individual Hub items, I only need them viewable from inside the StoryMap.

Hi,

Can you unshare the item with the group that's associated with your Hub Site? You can see what groups these are by going to Org -> Settings -> Open Data.

You'll still need to share the layer publicly so that it can be consumed by the public StoryMap.
