State level statistics by zip code

Question

Hello, I need a report in Business Analyst on three variables by zip code for a few states. I can define a geography in the maps section, then map the data and break it down by zip, but I cannot get the entire state this way. It's quite cumbersome (and time consuming) to go through and make sure every zip code is represented. Is there another way to get this report for the entire state, broken down by zip? Thanks

Hello @JanHaskell-Mohr ,

Here is a workaround that might work for you:

1. Go to Maps tab > Add Data > Web Maps and Layers > select the Living Atlas tab > search for "USA ZIP Code Areas" and Open it

2. The layer will be added to your project table > expand the layer > filter it by States

3. For example, I filtered the zip codes for AZ as follows:

4. Click Done > and click the Setup layer option for the layer

5. Select the ZIP_CODE field to label your sites > click Setup Layer > setup the layer as follows:

6. You will get a message that some of the zip code entries do not match geographic boundaries. Click OK.

7. Now all zip codes in AZ are ready for your analysis. For example, you can Run Comparisons from the last step:

8. Click on the From layers tab and select all zip codes in AZ from your previous setup > Apply

9. You can select any variables you need and can compare a maximum of 1000 zip codes (sites) in this workflow.

You can repeat the same workflow to add other zip codes in other states for your analysis.
