Required field only when survey opened from inbox

Question

Is it possible to make a field required only when the survey is opened from the Inbox?

Inspection will be performed and any deficiencies that are not immediately fixed onsite, are tagged and repaired at a future date. When the repair is completed, the repair info will be added to the existing inspection form (open/edit from Inbox) and I would like to make the repair date required only when the form is opened from the Inbox.
