Feature Class to Feature Class tool in Model Builder truncates field names

Question

When I use the tool "Feature Class to Feature Class" in Model Builder it truncates the long field names.  Is there a way to prevent this?  Thanks.

Figured it out, need to save it to a Personal Geodatabase to avoid truncating.

Yes, shapefiles are weak. Here's a good discussion of that in the Arc 10 help, for the good of the thread:

Also, another issue with truncated field names is whether output names are prefixed from a join:
